HemocyTap is a reliable tool designed to enhance the process of cell counting using a hemocytometer. The application allows users to differentiate between live and dead cells, determine cell density, viability, and calculate new culture volume effortlessly. Noteworthy features include the functionality to save and share data via email and monitor cell growth progression over time.

Are manual tally counts leaving your thumbs fatigued? Do calculation errors frustrate your workflow? HemocyTap offers a solution to these common challenges encountered during cell counting procedures.

The application facilitates the counting process by offering two distinct tally counters for live and dead cells, each with unique auditory cues for accuracy. It efficiently tracks counted cells within each designated square, enabling seamless transition between viewed squares under the microscope. Users have the flexibility to preselect the number of squares for counting, with the option to focus on either large or small squares within the central square. Additionally, a long tap feature allows for easy deselection of a counted square.

In terms of calculations, HemocyTap automatically computes count averages, provides guidance on necessary volume adjustments for achieving desired cell densities during subculturing, and presents data on cell viability and live cell counts. Users can input original culture volume, desired cell density, and dilution values to obtain precise calculations. Recent updates offer the choice between μL or mL units and support decimal dilutions for increased flexibility.

Export functionality in HemocyTap enables swift email transmission of cell count datasets in .csv format, catering to both individual counts and bulk experiment data. Furthermore, data sharing among iOS devices equipped with HemocyTap fosters collaborative opportunities within laboratory settings.

The application excels in data visualization and analysis capabilities by incorporating plotting features to monitor culture performance, track viability and live cell trends over time, and calculate cell doubling times. Users can seamlessly navigate between folders to review past counts, compare current cell numbers, and eliminate unwanted data entries.

Recent enhancements include compatibility with iOS 11 and a new timer feature designed to aid users in managing laboratory tasks efficiently. It is important to note that HemocyTap is intended for educational purposes exclusively and should not be utilized for medical diagnostics.
